Thankful for the day

Thankful for the day, what a statement right!?! There are so many things that each and every one of us can be thankful for. Sometimes the carrying on of life and the busy hustle of everyday life distracts us from this vision. I challenge you to take a moment today and reflect on the challenges you’ve been through, the joyful moments, and yes even those tough moments of sadness/fear/anger.

So at this point in time, you may be asking yourself; Jason, why are your writing about this?

I have chosen to write this short narrative today because it is a topic that’s been placed on my heart…it’s for someone to come across…who??? I am not sure, but who is really not important to me. We will all go through trials and tribulations in life, and we are told this from the very beginning. One of the best ways that I’ve been taught to manage these trials is through self-reflection. I typically ask myself, what do I have to be thankful for in this very moment, why am I going through this moment now, and how can my experience going through this moment help someone else that will be going through a moment like this in their future? Each and every trial that we are presented with are trials we are meant to go through. They are either designed to help us grow as a person, help someone that is close to us with an opportunity to grow, or to be an example to others who are watching from a distance. As a bible believing Christian these are pivotal moments that are designed to build and strengthen an individual’s faith.

I encourage each and every one of you that have come across this writing to help those around you, showing empathy, love, and kindness. Even though we all share different opinions, values, and beliefs it does not mean that we shouldn’t treat each other the way we intend to be treated ourselves. We are given opportunities in life, we are given direction, but to understand that direction it is up to us utilizing our listening skills and observations.

Thankful for the day, a great motivator to stay positive! I appreciate each of you.

Good Luck,

Capt. J
